i dont like nights where gray clouds cover the entire sky, illuminated by the light pollution of the filthy cities below. these nights i lay on my back starring up at the sky, wondering.. what am i supposed to look at? what is there to lull me to sleep, to comfort me? there isnt even black. there is no depth. there is no mystery. there, right there, i can see where the sky ends, in that smoky gray.
this is when we, as humans, get inventive. we make our own stars, our own comforts - because we need something more reliable than nature. we build nature, to give us strength, when the real thing isnt there. we're too impatient and weak to be alone for long.
..too often we forget that nature continues to exist, despite her destruction in our attempts of replication.
light pollution sucks! especially when you live close to a big city or in one... i live next to or actually close enough to new york that when the night comes it is like a light bulb... sooo anyways ... nice picture,.. and comment!

Beautiful photo, with a great idea behind it. I've always seen the city as a bit of a night light - all humans are scared of the dark and the sort of defencelessness it brings.

As of recent, the talented =Behana has joined us in bringing you this weekly newsletter and we are excited to have her on board. This is a special feature, with a selection of 50 manips from the past year that we loved.
